We know it can be daunting doing a professional photoshoot, especially if this is not something you do on the reg so we have created some simple pose ideas for you to practise at home in the mirror before your flying dress photoshoot.
POWER POSE
HOW TO CREATE THE POWER POSE:
Make sure your body is directly facing the camera
Place both hands just above your hips
Put one foot slightly in front of the other with your heel lifted off the ground so your toes are pointed on your front foot and your weight resting on your back foot
Bend the knee of your front leg slightly inwards
Remember to smile
PAGEANT QUEEN
HOW TO CREATE THE PAGEANT QUEEN:
Hold one side of the dress high above your head
Place the other hand just above your hip
Put one foot slightly in front of the other with your heel lifted off the ground so your toes are pointed and your weight resting on your back foot
Let the wind do it's thing and blow your dress fully open
Remember to smile
REACH FOR THE STARS
HOW TO CREATE THE REACH FOR THE STARS POSE:
Raise one arm above your head and gently stretch your fingers straight up to the sky
Either place the other hand on your hip or waist or
Lightly place your other hand just below the back of your wrist on the arm that is stretched up in the air so you elbow is slightly bent
THE LOL
HOW TO CREATE THE LOL POSE:
Candid shots are always the best shots so for this one you need to be relaxed, happy... and laughing out loud!
Think of a funny joke or do a fake laugh
It will most likely feel awkward but we promise it will look great
LEAN IN
HOW TO CREATE THE LEAN IN POSE:
Make sure your whole body is facing towards the camera
Put one arm in front of your body and place your hand on top of the fabric of the dress in front of you
The other hand can then be positioned on your hip, waist, neck or you can pretend to tuck your hair behind your ear
Lean slightly forward towards the camera and give us your best smile or pout!
THE FLAMINGO
HOW TO CREATE THE FLAMINGO POSE:
Turn your body to the side
Hold the dress by your thigh with the hand closest to the camera
Lift the leg closest to the camera and bend your knee while pointing your toes down to the ground
With the opposite arm raise your hand high to the sky or hold on to the rocks for balance
Tilt your head slightly back and smile or pout
If you can practise these basic poses in front of the mirror at home before your photoshoot it will help you feel more confident for the camera on the day of your flying dress photoshoot.
